It was really fun with the newly "founded" soccer club! went to tyunn's house yesterday to catch the matches of germany vs argentina and italy vs ukraine. it was totally hilarious. all of us were supporting germany and italy with the exception of tyunn- the loner who supported argentina and ukraine. we were so so happy that germany and italy won their matches!! poor tyunn was lamenting in a corner though hahahaha. while waiting for the matches to start, we started playing monopoly and gosh it was absolutely nerve wrecking! it felt as though that was the first real game that we have ever played now that we truely understood the meaning of MONOPOLY haha. it started off with me talking about the probability of rolling certain numbers, then aston went on to the binomial and poisson distribution. after that weilun rattled about bidding for land starting from the price of one buck! who on earth ever does that?? and jiahao's pet phrase: buying property is a good investment. for the first round, the guys practically dominated the game! they bought every single piece of land they landed on, leaving the girls with nothing! just when we thought that we could buy an area, the guys will take turns to say "that's mine!" grrr. but tyunn was the most pathetic. she was surviving on two profitless plots of land haha. the second round progressed at rocket speed and this time things changed. because jiahao started the trading stuff, he actually bought a piece of land from tiffany at 1000 bucks! goodness that woman immediately went to build three hotels at one go and suddenly the whole area was a minesfield- if any of us landed on any one of those squares, we would have to pay her 950 bucks! she suddenly became the millionaire haha. everyone started calculating the number of steps they have to move to either get into jail or escape from the danger zone. the dialogues during the game were "undescribably" funny- imagine negotiating and giving discounts to each other HAHA. after that was cam whoring session and we got really high.

if there's anything good about the world cup, it's the fact that it has enabled people to bond, not forgetting about the pleasure and excitement of soccer as well :)
